Cliffs by the Orange River, South Africa-Namibia border


Cliffs by the Orange River, the longest river in South Africa, at the border between South Africa and Namibia. Orange River rises in the Drakensberg Mountains, along the border between South Africa and Lesotho, and flows 2200 km westwards to the Atlantic Ocean. Deposits of alluvial diamonds are found along the Orange River but hydro electricity is another important economic use of the Orange which is also popular for recreational canoeing in summer.
