View over the rugged, boulder strewn landscape of the Magaliesberg Mountains. The Magaliesberg mountain is a small mountain chain in the Gauteng and North-west provinces of South Africa. The mountains consist predominantly of layers of shale, quartzite and dolomite of the Transvaal Supergroup which was uplifted and tilted about 2000 million years ago.
