Hackney, London. September 17th 2016. Passing Clouds, which has been at the heart of live music in Hackney providing a platform for new and emerging artists, organised a ‘March of London Warriors’ in a show of support with recently closed music venues. A travelling party of African drummers, artists, supporters and a gospel choir followed a giant pulsating heart in the procession that started in Hoxton Square Saturday afternoon. Passing Clouds asked people attending the march to dress head-to-toe in red and create a ‘river of blood’ down Kingsland Road that symbolises the vitality of London’s music venues. The procession attended by up to 700 people stopped at Passing Clouds before reaching Gillett Square for a rally where musicians, poets and speakers took to the stage, including a representative for London Mayor Sadiq Khan. The Mayor recently met with Passing Clouds founder Eleanor Wilson and pledged his full support to the venue.
