Gibraltar - 12th January 2015 - The Gibraltar World Music Festival organisers today held a press conference at the floating luxury hotel the Sunborn in Gibraltar. The line up for this years GWMF’s 2015 edition was presented by as well as this years festival theme - ‘Khamsa’. Khamsa means ‘Five’ in Arabic and its symbol, the open right hand, is recognised and used as a sign of protection in many societies throughout the history, the ‘Khamsa’ is believed to provide defence against the evil eye and will be in GWMF 2015. The organisers highlighted the importance of the event which brings together a fusion of cultures considering the political backdrop during the past weeks which has seen terror threats across Europe. The GWMF has become a must go event in the calendar of other prestigious Music, Cultural festivals and forums in the world. Gibraltar World Music Festival has already welcomed Artistic Directors and founders of the Sacred Music Festival of Fes (Morocco), Babel Med (in France), founders of the Womex (World Music Exhibition), among others.
