There are several ulcers in the csecum, one of which has perforated. From thecharacters of these ulcers I incline to the opinion that they are of diphtheritic origin; butthe rest of the colon not having been sent to the Museum, and the descriptions beingimperfect, I am uncertain whether the case was one of acute diphtheritic dysentery orwhether the diphtheritic process supervened upon a chronic flux. In case 440 the specimen[No. 44, Medical Section] is a portion of the jejunum showing an invagination. In case578 the specimen [No 478. Medical Section] is a portion of the greater curvature of the. In case 721 the specimen [No. 53, MedicalSection] is a pedunculated connective-tissue tumor attached to the peritoneal surface of asmall fragment of the ileum. In very many of these cases the large intestine is spoken of as thickened, softened, congested or inflamed. In all of them ulceration is aflirmed to have existed except five,in which it may reasonably be inferred to have been present from the language used, viz:in case 255 the mucous membrane of the intestines was extensively disorganized; in case471 the mucous membrane of the colon was very much disorganized; in case 614 themucous membrane of the co
