In the latest Check List of the Lepidoptera^ McDunnough makes this a synonym of perspicua. Cockerell separates his subspecies on larval differences, and on the fact that the "oblique streak to the apex of the primar- ies is almost or quite ; A long series of Datana secured in the Ibanpah Mountains, San Bernardino County, and a few specimens from the Lake 122.
