Instead, however, of water being admittedto all of the buckets, and the whole structure solidly filled, the wateris admitted to but few of the buckets, being carried to them andgiven its initial direction by one or more nozzles. The water passes from the nozzleinto the wheel buckets and after passing through the latter is re-jected at atmospheric pressure.
