Under construction and support, the mobile railroad gun is being removed from trucks and prepared for firing in this image. Usually manned by 22 men, it was manned by 122 during the drive, working in cooperation with airplane observation. Targeting the Hqrs. of two German Army Corps located near a railhead thirty kilometers away, aero observers reported four hits from four shots fired. This photo was taken at 3:30 PM by 1st Lieutenant R. W. Sears on September 26, 1918 in Baleycourt, Meuse, France.
