Lava flow from Kilauea, Hawaii. This lava flow is from the Kilauea volcano on the Pacific island of Hawaii. This lava, near the coast, has been cooled by sea water to produced the forms seen here. The Hawaiian islands are volcanic in origin, composed of the rock produced by successive volcanic eruptions. Photographed in September 2016.
