Fresh cinnamon leaves (Cinnamomum verum) growing in Sri Lanka. The leaves are used to produce cinnamon oil which is used in herbal medicines

Cinnamon leaves are used to produce cinnamon oil which contains phytonutrients used in ayurvedic and herbal medicines. Cinnamon leaf oil is a good source of eugenol (which can relieve gastrointestinal problems such as nausea and diarrhea), plus it contains high concentrations of cinnameldehyde, a natural pain reliever with anti-inflammatory properties.
