Lauder, UK. 3rd August, 2013. Lauder Common Riding 2013 - the traditional annual inspection of the border markings of the town. Pictured: Cameron McNeill, Lauder Cornet gallops onto the golf course at the start of the riding of the Burgh boundaries. One of the original Border Common Ridings, there is a reference to a ceremony in Lauder's Town Council minutes of 1686. On Saturday the Cornet receives the Burgh Flag at the Tollbooth and leads the mounted cavalcade to the Watering Stane and onto the Burgess Cairn, the only boundary stone still in existence.
