I. p. 5 (18S5). ^•Female :—Front, crown, and occiput dark warm brown, each feather of the crown and occiput with a f?haft-stripe of dull pale rufous; upper plumage reddish oli\'aceous brown, deeper in color on the upper part of the back and on the wing-coverts: the latter Inne their ends marked with small spots of bright rufous, which possiblv may be an evidence of the example not being fully mature; the tail is of a dark wai-m brown, the shafts black: inner webs of quills blackish brown; the outer webs reddish brown, of the same color as the tail- feathers; the shafts are glossy black; under lining of wings clear cinnamon red; un
