Male reproductive system. Computer artwork of a section through an erect male penis. The penis is at upper image. Immediately below this is the solitary bulge of the Cowper's gland, which produces a component of seminal fluid. At bottom centre is the edge of the bladder, which is attached to the prostate gland which also produces a component of semen. The top of the penis is called the glans. Along the sides of the penis is erectile tissue. The tube connecting the penis to the bladder is called the urethra. During ejaculation, sperm is passed from the testes into the urethra through a tube known as the vas deferens.
