A track worker having just lit a Rail welder device that melts the two track together to for a continuous line in between points

A High visibility clad worker turns his back on the heat produced by a "Thermite" welding unit placed on the top of a Train track using sheer heat to melt a small amount of steel and the two lines of steel rail it needs to join, the extreme heat produced melts both track ends and a small amount of added steel to produce a perfect weld between both lines which can be ground off to produce a perfect joint. Using clay molds and pans either side to collect any excess material produced or "boiled"off during the weld.
