This brown ceramic plaque erected by Camden London Borough Council adorns the wall of a house at 50 Gordon Square in Bloomsbury, London. It reads: “Here and in neighbouring houses during the first half of the 20th Century there lived several members of the Bloomsbury Group including Virginian Woolf, Clive Bell and the Stracheys." Other members of the Bloomsbury set included the celebrated economist John Maynard Keynes, who lived at number 46 and the painter and interior designer Vanessa Bell, who was the sister of Virginia Woolf and wife of the art critic Clive Bell.
