Under Rev. C. S. Thurber,.pastor since 1895, the work has been greatly prospered. T^HE Church of the Messiah, at Woods Holl, was organized September 28,1852. There was no church building at this time; people worshiped inschoolhouse. Mr. Joseph S. Fay gave land where the church now stands,and the members raised funds and built a wooden structure, which is nowour Parish House (having been made into such after occupying our newstone church). In September, 1888, the corner stone for our new stone churchwas laid with services conducted by Rev. Geo. S. Converse.
