'Crutched Friars' sculpture by Michael Black on the corner of Friary Court office building, Crutched Friars, London, England, UK

The street called Crutched Friars is named after The House of Crutched Friars which was located near this site. The Crutched Friars or Crossed Friars were a Roman Catholic religious order of mendicant friars who went to England in the 13th century from Italy, where they existed for some time, and where they were called Fratres Cruciferi.
