Lade's Moon globe. This Moon globe was constructed in around 1897 by the German astronomer Heinrich Eduard von Lade (1817-1904). It only shows the visible side of the Moon, as it would be another 60 years before the far side of the Moon would be mapped by US and Soviet spacecraft. The topographical side of this globe shows features exaggerated in height ten times. The other side of the globe is a conventional map with named features. This globe is part of the collection of German poet Rudolf Dietz.
