A Tesco fan leaves the Tesco store in Portsmouth. Tesco have been blasted by green campaigners for making home delivery drops 14-miles away from one supermarket rather than from another miles away. The supermarket giant, whose motto is ‘Every little helps’, sends food to Hedge End, Hants, from their supermarket in Portsmouth despite the one in Bursledon being nearer. Tesco claim their Bursledon store, which also has a home delivery service, is one of the busiest in Britain and using the Portsmouth branch to deliver instead cuts down on ‘congestion’.
