The Korean War (1950 - 1953) started five years after the independence of Korea from Japanese occupation, divided at the outset of the independence following the 38th parallel. The war started when the North Korean regime backed by the communist block (China and the Soviet Union) invaded South Korean regime backed by the United States and the United Nations Command.
