The Wall of Names at the Flight 93 National Memorial. The memorial was created to commemorate the crash of United Airlines Flight 93, one of four aircraft hijacked in the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks in the United States. The memorial honors the passengers and crew of Flight 93, who stopped the terrorists from reaching their target by fighting the hijackers whose intended target is thought to have been the United States and Capitol Building in Washington , and is located at the crash site. The Wall of Names The Wall of Names is a white marble wall positioned on the flight path with forty panels, each engraved with the name of a passenger or crew member that perished in the crash. positioned to be on the crash route of Flight 93.
