MOUNT VERNON. Mount \ernon, the home of Washington, is situated on the western bank of thePotomac, about fifteen miles from Washington. It is open to visitors every day, exceptSunday, from a. m. to p. m. Mount Vernon may be reached by steamer starting from wharf foot of Seventhstreet at a. m. and ) ]i. m., or by electric cars from 18,.■ street and Pennsyl-. l (_.\Ul;i; \UV_ vania avenue. The fare for the round trip, including admission to the grounds, isseventy-five cents. In the grounds will be found the tomb of Washington and the Man-sion House occupied by him. The latter cimtains many priceless relics of the Father ofhis Country. The visitor is shown the room in which Washington died, containing theoriginal furniture. The adjacent grounds are beautifully wooded with shade treesplanted by Washington when a young man. NEW CONGRESSIONAL LIBRARY. The Library of Congress, admitted to be one of the finest buildings in the world, islocated just east of the Capitol.
