This Melon was broughthere from Texas by Mr. Nat. Henderson, ofIberia Parish, La. It has proven to be thebest Melon for this section, either for mar-ket or family use. This Melon is abovemedium and very uniform in size; a prolificbenrer, oblong in shape; the rind is of mot-tied green and black color, somewhat like the Rattle Snake but of a darker flesh is of a deep red color, solid, crispand very sweet in flavor, it cannot be ex-celled by any variety. It is excelent formarket as well as for family use. Whenbetter known it will become one of the lead-ing varieties for the South. Recommendsame very highly.
