Spiral galaxy NGC 2841, Hubble Space Telescope (HST) image. This galaxy lies around 46 million light years from Earth in the constellation Ursa Major. NGC 2841 has a weakly active nucleus known as as a low ionisation nuclear emission-line region (LINER). LINERs are characterised by spectral emission lines from weakly ionised or neutral atoms.
