The Road to Freedom, organised by the Northeast Palestinian community in collaboration with the Newcastle PSC took place in Gateshead. Among the speakers were the Palestinian Ambassador to the UK Dr. Husam Zomlot and Mohammad Shaat, an architecture student. Mick Bowman who walked to Palestine from England in 2023 and then spent 4 months supporting the International Solidarity Network and the Palestinians in the occupied territories of Palestinas was awarded a prize for his services.
