A lone meteor from the 2023 Geminid meteor shower streaks away from the radiant point in Gemini below centre amid the red aurora, with the meteor in Auriga and above Orion rising at lower right. An aurora brightens the northern sky at left, with a broad green lower curtain and red upper curtain. This was one frame, and the only frame, out of 380 shot this night with this camera that recorded a meteor, though clouds intervened for most of the frames. This was 30 seconds with the Laowa 15mm lens wide open at f/2 on the Canon R5 at ISO 1600, and on a fixed tripod not tracking the sky. Shot from home in southern Alberta, December 13, 2023. High cloud added the natural star glows.
