Lions are more active at night. MASAI MARA; KENYA: FUNNY images have shown a naughty lion cub swatting his mother in the face while she was trying to take a nap. The poor lioness was photographed lying down in the grass with her eyes closed while the energetic cub tried to invite her to play. Lionesses normally hunt at night and recover during the daytime ? but this cheeky cub was photographed disturbing several members of the pride during a much-needed siesta. In another photo, one of the cubs is seen pouncing at a sibling and, in one image, a tired-looking lioness appeared to give up trying to sleep to make a fuss of the cubs instead. These photographs were captured in Kenya?s Masai Mara by professional photographer Evert Doorn (47) from Bussum, the Netherlands. He took these gorgeous photographs from 40 ft away using a Canon 5D Mark IV DSLR camera with a fixed 500mm lens. ?Lion cubs are always extremely playful! And if they can't play with each other, then mum's usually a target as well,? he said. ?Being a lion mum can be quite exhausting and cubs seem to have limitless amounts of energy so sometimes she is just enduring it. ?Watching lion cubs play never gets boring. ?It's always a pleasure seeing their curiosity and energy.
