FORT SHAFTER, Hawaii (Jan. 21, 2020) Pacific Ocean Division (POD) Commanding General, Brig. Gen. Thomas Tickner (center left), stands alongside Director General for Facilities and Installations, Minister’s Secretariat, Kenji Takagi (center right), Japan Ministry of Defense (MOD), ahead of a roundtable discussion regarding continued engineering partnership opportunities, proposed program improvements and solutions to shared challenges. POD, along with Japan Engineer District, conducts technical exchanges with the Japan MOD to enhance existing bilateral relationships and to improve engineering support to and Japanese governments in execution of respective missions. This collaboration is part of a longstanding agreement between the two countries and enhances peace and security in the region.
