(April 25, 2022) Casey Collins, second from the right, the deputy to the commander assigned to Joint Task Force Civil Support, discusses how JTF-CS would deploy and respond to a catastrophic natural or manmade incident with Army Maj. Gen. William Prendergast, the commander of Contingency Command Post 1, Task Force 51, for Army North, center left, who is acting as the deputy exercise director during Vibrant Response 22, April 25, 2022. Joint Task Force Civil Support conducts chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear response and all-hazards defense support to civil authorities operations in support of the lead federal agency in order to save lives, mitigate human suffering, and prevent further injury. Vibrant Response is an annual Army North, Northern Command directed Command Post Exercise planned in coordination with DoD, Department of Homeland Security, FEMA and other federal and state partners. As USNORTHCOM’s Joint Forces Land Component Command, Army North regularly plans and conducts this multicomponent exercise.
