Judge Myrie Carted Through the Streets

In 1775, at the start of the American Revolution, feelings ran high among the colonists and the pro-British. On one occasion, Judge Myrie who lived in Monson, Massachusetts, outside of Boston, was taken by the several supporters of the Colonial cause and placed in a dung cart. They then paraded him around the area. Myrie was one of British general Gage's councilors.
