Spiral staircase leading down to Constables Hall in Kidwelly Castle, Carmarthenshire, south west Wales, UK

Kidwelly Castle is an Anglo-Norman castle overlooking the river Gwendraeth and the town of Kidwelly, Carmarthenshire, south-west Wales. Kidwelly Castle appeared in the very first scene after the titles for the film 'Monty Python and the Holy Grail'. The 'Constable' was in charge of the castle and lived in the gatehouse with his family. Upstairs in the great hall the constable sometimes held great feasts. The stairwell shown in this photo leads to 'Constables Hall'.
