Two Views of One of the New Loading Platforms at Indianapolis City of Indianapolis Builds LoadingPlatforms THE city authorities of Indianapolis, Ind., have ap-parently been convinced of the desirability and prac-ticability of street loading paltforms for street carpatrons. As evidenced by the two illustrations shownherewith the city is now building loading platforms atlocations of heaviest loading in the center of the city. The platforms are arranged for double berthing ofthe large double truck Indianapolis cars and are similarin many ways to those in Washington, D. C. They areconstructed directly on top of the street paving and aremade of concrete, with cement, or sidewalk, tops. Acurb is not set, as has been done in other places, but asteel band is built into the edge of the platform andbears the brunt of any blows which may be receivedfrom passing vehicles.
