PFC Megloy from the 3rd Battalion 12 Regiment (Lancaster, PA) fires a 105 Howitzer during a fire mission against suspected Viet Cong () positions on October 24, 1966. The action took place on the artillery plateau, approximately eight miles northwest of Dong Ha in the Republic of Vietnam. This photograph was taken by Sgt. McVeigh and is part of the Defense Department's collection (Marine Corps) with the serial number IFG A188028.
