I dont like America . I want to go home ! LITTLE ROSYS VOYAGE OF DISCOVERY. the hole and over their heads; and Rosy criedout,- c Oh! I dont like America. I want to gohome ! She put her hands over her head, and seemedas if she were going to fall. And as for Charley,his courage was quite gone now. He put bothhis arms up, and doubled himself up as if hethought the creature would alight on his headand crush him by its weight. And he said notone word to comfort Rosy. After all, what do you think this dreadfulcreature was ? It was black, and had wings, sharp-pointedwings; and it flew very fast, faster than anybird, arid whizzed close past the childrens faces;but it did not touch them. If they had only had it in their hands, andbeen able to have a good look at it, perhapsthey might not have thought it quite so dreadful,for it was really- —only a bat!
