The Witch Dungeon Museum in Salem Massachusetts

Salem is most famous for the witch trials and subsequent executions in 1692. Hysteria followed the seemingly inexplicable behavior of two young girls, and after Magistrates Jonathan Corwin and John Hathorne had meted out their idea of justice 20 people had been killed. 14 women were executed as witches and 6 men as warlocks. 19 of the victims died by hanging, and one individual was slowly crushed to death after having stones placed on his body. Salem is also famous for its beautiful historic residencies dating from the 17th Century, and for its many museums. Salem is also a popular destination during the Halloween holiday season.
