The Hurlers prehistoric stone circles, Bodmin Moor, Cornwall: looking north north east at part of the central circle with the north circle beyond.
The Hurlers stone circles, Bodmin Moor, Cornwall: view looking north north east of part of the central circle with the northern circle beyond. The granite stones have been hammer-dressed. The circles were excavated and partly restored in 1935-6 by Rallegh Radford. The northern circle was paved, the centre one floored with granite crystals and there was a strip of paving between the north and central circles. The Hurlers are said to be men turned to stone in punishment for playing a ball game on a Sunday afternoon (profaning the Lord's Day)
