C. Baucom, was one of adifferent nature from those given be-fore. This program was on the lifeof Stephen Collins Foster, and severalof the scenes were in play-like form. Stephen Foster was born on thefourth of July, 1826. Foster tookan unusual interest in music at anearly age and continued his musicstudies into his early manhood. Ste-phen Foster gave us many beautifulsongs of home which the Americanpeople love to sing. Two of his mostfamous songs were Oh, Susannaand Jeanie with the Light BrownHair. The latter he wrote for hiswife Jane McDowell. Perhaps noone place influenced Foster in hissong writing as much as did his homeat Federal Hill which he made fa-mous in the song My Old KentuckyHome.
