King Abdullah I Humber car used for It was used in his trips around the Kingdom, exhibited in the Royal Automobile Museum


Starting as bicycle makers, Humber became a motorcycle, automobile and airplane company by 1912. Their first motorcar appeared in 1903 with a one-cylinder, 5-hp engine. As the British automotive industry grew, Humber became known for solid, well-built cars with reliable first became part of the Roots Group, and then was bought by Chrysler (12) in 1964; the name Humber was phased out by 1976. King Abdullah I used this Humber for a few years before his assassination. It was used in trips around the Kingdom and the many trips to Jerusalem on Fridays. It is the only remaining car from the era of HM King Abdullah I. The car remained at the Royal Palaces for many years in its original condition, and was recently partially restored. 1946 marks the end of the British Mandate and the independence of Jordan with Prince Abdullah I becoming King.
