Southport, Merseyside, UK. 22nd Nov, 2014. Southport's big Christmas switch on “promises to be a great day” says the town's BID team. Katie McGlynn, who brings to life the character of Sinead Tinker in Coronation Street, pressed the switch on plunger to illuminate the Christmas Lights. Festivities in the resort are this year being organised by the newly formed Business Improvement District.
