Brighton UK, 16th May 2020: A box plant in a garden in Brighton, almost destroyed after being colonised by box-tree caterpillars. First found in private gardens here in the UK in 2011, the caterpillars have since become a widespread problem across South East England and are also present in the rest of the UK. In the last 3 years, they have been ranked as the top garden pest by the Royal Horticultural Society; being the pest that RHS received most enquiries about.
