"Sgt. Joseph Long, Jr. (left) of F Company, 2nd Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division shows Staff Sgt. Vincent Kelly, Jr., a diagram of his head wound received on April 21, 1966. A 45-caliber round entered below Long's right eye, passed through his sinus cavities, and lodged in front of his jaw bone. The round was found by doctors after X-Rays were taken and subsequently removed aboard the hospital ship USS REPOSE. Long returned to combat duty 16 days later.
