Annelid worm anatomy. Computer artwork showing the internal anatomy of 3 segments (metameres) from an annelid (segmented) worm's body. The basic annelid body consists of multiple segments, each with the same sets of organs, and each separated by a dividing wall (septum, blue disc). Nephrostomes funnel water from the coelom (fluid-filled cavity) into the nephridia, the equivalent of kidneys, where it is filtered to remove metabolic waste.
