This image may not be used in educational posters Geometry equations. Computer artwork showing equations for determining the area and volume of a cone and its component shapes. The total surface area is the sum of the area of its base and the area of the curved side. The area of the base is given by the formula for the area of a circle (pi times the radius of the circle squared). The area of the curved side is calculated by multiplying the length of the side of the cone (s) by the radius (r) of the base and pi. The volume is one third of the base area (pi times the radius of the circle squared) times the height (h).
