Desiring to adopt medicine ashis profession, he matriculated at the Hahnemann College of thiscity in the fall of 1882, graduating from that college in March, on South Broad street, and still continuing a hard Harrington has gradually increased his general familypractice until to-day he is one of the leading physicians in thesouthern section of the city. He is a prominent member of theCountv Medical Society, and also a member of the American Insti-tute of Irvin B. Gilbert, M. D. HORACE E. JAMES, HORACE F. IVINS, The subject of this sketch is a shining example of what con-stant study, energetic pursuit of a selected specialty and a sincerelove of a chosen profession will accomplish. He was born in Buckscounty, Pa., October 30, 1856. He has made his influence feltamong a wide circle of admiring friends, not only in his admirable Is a native of the Quaker City, having been born in the neigh-borhood of Eighth and Noble streets, Philadelphia, on M:i\ 2\,1856. After an education at the public schools of this city hespent some years travelling through Ohio, Illinois, Iowa, Missouri,Kansas and Colorado, but like a faithful son he returned to his na-tive State in 1S79. After having acquired a general knowledge of theworld through his travels and being thoroughly equipped mentallyand physically for the duties of a medical student, he decided toenter the Hahnemann Medical College of this city.
