In regard to bees selecting a homebefore they swarm, there seems to bea difterence of opinion, some claimingthat they do select it, while others areequally sure that they swarm withoutany knowledge of where they aregoing. In most cases, probablj-, thelatter view is correct, yet I am positivethat some swarms do select their futureabode some days before they swarm. Wlien but a boy, I manj times sawbees searching the body of a large treeall over, which stood on the edge ofthe woods, as if looking for some placeto enter it, and at that time I wonder-ed what thej- were doing.
