Four magnificent city gates were erected to guard the old Medina and feature exquisite tiles and grand designs. The gates of the Royal Palace, built by the Almohad Dynasty in 13th century and Bab Boujloud is hailed as the most beautiful of them all. The Southern Tower was built between 1587 and 1609 by Portuguese prisoners to improve the defense of the Medina. The tower offers panoramic view over the Old Medina and its environs. Tombs of the Merenid Dynasty: Get spectacular views over the city from this resting place of the Merenid Sultans who played a crucial role in making Fez the cultural and religious capital of Morocco.
