V., has re-cently applied Atlas A weed killer and track preservative,which is manufactured by the Atlas Preservative Company,on its Sodus Bay line, which runs between Rochester andSodus Point, a distance of 39 miles. The chemical wasshipped in a large tank car direct from the factory to the. W. H. Lienesch, a consulting engineer of Chicago, is pre-paring to make for general sale a rein forced-concrete poleof the star-shaped section show 11 in the accompanyingdrawing. It is asserted that the new design weighs but two-thirds as much as square-type rein forced-concrete poles forthe same service; thus it is not necessary to pour it underthe disadvantageous conditions of field work.
