View E of Cae Coch standing stone on the S slopes of Tal y Fan overlooking the Conwy Valley, North Wales. The stone stands on a small mound uphill from a prehistoric & Roman trackway marked by a post-Medieval field wall. The trackway is part of the Roman road from Segontium (Caernarfon) to Canovium (Caerhun) in the Conwy Valley. The stone may have served as a prehistoric route marker &/or marked a burial in prominent sight of the routeway.
