PUERTO BARRIOS, Guatemala (Oct. 3, 2017) Navy Lt. Cmdr. Ian Sutherland, the technical director for Navy Entomology Center of Excellence, and Dr. Hector Soriano, head of entomology and vector control for Department of Izabal, investigate local neighborhoods as part of insect and disease control efforts, during Southern Partnership Station 17 (SPS 17). SPS 17 is a Navy deployment, executed by Naval Forces Southern 4th Fleet, focused on subject matter expert exchanges with partner nation militaries and security forces in Central and South America.
