The ceiling is oak , however, there are harmony of styleand absence of frills and furbelows. The mostrigid classicism prevails from wall covering of theUving room, which is an actual reproduction of a TJic Sterling Mansion. The entrance hall, finished in English Colonialstyle, has large wall panels formed by delicatewooden moldings. The artist had in mind the conven-tional Colonial colors—the Continental uniformcolors—buff, gray, and the effect is artistic andcharming. The illustration of the hall shows one of the wallpanels occupied by a mirror of very graceful lines. carved in wood and enamel-ed in the gray color of thewoodwork. Various docu-ments and writings on thesubject of Colonial housesindicate that the relief workwas always putty the ornamental relief inthis house has been done incarved wood.
